Project and change management of the design and fit out of a flexible workplace for 2500 staff moving from London and Manchester to MediaCityUK, Salford. 35,000 sq m, over 20 floors in 3 buildings.
I managed the interface between the 36 moving teams and the Design Team. This involved complex stakeholder and communication management for the full project lifecycle.
At concept design stage, I was involved in over 300 hours of user engagement meetings to analyse work patterns, the different types of spaces required, effective team adjacencies and technology needs.
I was a key member of the workplace procurement team (furniture, wayfinding signage and wall graphics).
Based in the site office for the duration of the fit out, I worked closely with the main contractors. I led site visits for BBC staff and external stakeholders and was the client representative in all Design Team meetings.
To help develop the region’s new design talent, I set up an undergraduate design challenge, with briefs for a phone chair and an upholstery textile. Both winners saw their designs go into commercial production.
Our team was praised highly for creating a vibrant and sustainable new home for the BBC and won the BCO Northern Fit Out award 2012.Architecture, Interior Design2011 -
